Supernatural Survival (a Tonkin Trilogy novella)

While this is a novella, it can still be read as a standalone.

In Zenoir's attempt to rid the world of all Supernaturals, he shot down a plane filled with them. Half of us died in that plane crash, but I was one of the lucky sixteen who'd survived.
We'd crashed on an island, one not registered on any map - as a map composer, I would know - and it seemed almost... alive? It sounds crazy, I know.
My name is Jacob Myers, and I'm the survivor of a plane crash. A plane crash onto an island that kills people one-by-one.
The only thing is that we have no idea who will be the next to die, or how they will die, but all we could do was try our best to survive, whether it be together or alone.
After a time, we learnt that the island has 'rules' of sorts and anybody who broke those rules ended up dead. The problem was that the only way we could learn one of the rules is if somebody had died from breaking it.
